28 Jan Coastal Tragedy
The Wedge Island Protection Association (WIPA) wishes to advise that there has been a tragic camping incident, with lives lost, on a remote stretch of coast between Lancelin and Wedge Island.
WIPA extends its sincere condolences to the families affected by this incident and wish that everyone respects their privacy at this time.
While the incident did not occur at Wedge Island as incorrectly reported in the media, WIPA is extremely proud of Wedge community volunteers with local knowledge and specialist skills who assisted the police and ambulance, and provided shelter and food for those affected by the incident.
