WIPA needs your help
There are some vacancies on the executive committee, and members need to step up where
they can help and share the load. A strong working committee is key to our fight for the Wedge
shack settlement.
There are also some sub-committees operating and planned that are in need of members to
assist in various one-off and continuous projects and activities.
Vacancies on the WIPA Executive Committee
There is expected to be a number of vacancies on the WIPA Executive Committee at this year’s
AGM, and all members are strongly encouraged to look at how they can support WIPA by
nominating for a position.
WIPA has played a vital part in lease extensions through the petitions to Parliament, meetings
and approaches to the various Environment Ministers over many years, and negotiations and
interaction with DPaW. With no WIPA there would be no recreational shacks at Wedge
remaining.
Over the years the membership of WIPA has been really supportive and encouraging of the committee. A strong WIPA Executive Committee is crucial to our ongoing fight for Wedge. Unfortunately through business and personal commitments, there will be several vacancies on the executive committee.
These vacancies present an opportunity for new people to come onto the committee, and new people means new energy, focus and ideas. An outline of what is required as a committee member is follows – members are encouraged to review this and see how they might make a contribution to WIP by being a committee member.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:
There shall be a Committee comprising nine (9) members, all of whom shall be dwelling owners.
The President/Chairperson, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and five (5) committee persons shall be known as the Executive Committee.
The committee members shall not be entitled to any remuneration or payment for their services, but may claim re-imbursement for expenditure incurred for attendance at executive meetings on provision of receipts.
The President/Chairperson, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and the five committee members shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting and shall hold office until such time as a properly constituted Annual General meeting can be held in accordance with clause 15 Voting.
